Performers are always talking about the high they get from being on stage. Well, JASON ALDEAN says there’s only one other thing that’ll match that feeling . . . and it’s hunting.
Quote, “[It] gives me the same rush as the stage. You’re sitting there, and a deer shows up that you’ve been seeing on camera all year, and you see it for first time, and you know you’re gonna have a shot at it. It’s the same thing when we play a show.”
Jason fell in love with hunting the first time he went, and it’s a pretty good story. He was 11, and he was with his dad and grandfather down in Monticello, Georgia.
They handed him a double-barrel shotgun, took him to the base of a tree in the woods, and told him to sit there until something came by. So he sat there . . . and something came by. It was a deer, it was about 20 yards away, and he killed it.
Quote, “My dad heard the shot and came over. It was a doe, [so] it wasn’t impressive. But my dad and granddad were the ones who got me into hunting, so to have them there to celebrate, that day stands out to me.”
